Unitech keyboard manual
As you can see, you are presented with a blank work area and a row of icons across the top. Following is an explanation of each of the icons:. Scanner Configuration Manager saves scanner settings in. The above icons, from left to right, represent download settings from computer to scanner , and upload settings from scanner to computer. The third icon opens a Test Pad where you can view the actual scanner output.
Click this icon to print a series of bar codes that you can scan in order to configure your scanner to the current SCM settings. This option is especially useful if downloading to the scanner is not an option, like when using an interface adaptor or if Windows NT is your operating system. Once you have SCM configured just the way you want it, click the Download icon see page 3. Now your scanner is ready to use with its new configuration. The screen to the left appears.
This is done via a drop-down menu. After selecting your configuration settings, click on the Download icon see page 3. The LED on the top of the scanner will flash during the download process. Afterwards, you. Following is a detailed discussion of each of the settings, their attributes, and the effects each of these will have on data output from your Unitech scanner.
Select the setting that most closely describes your device. Interblock delay is the time duration that can be inserted between one block of data and another. Intercharacter Delay is the time duration between data characters sent from the scanner to the computer.
Intercharacter delay is usually inserted when the data flow must be slowed down for the benefit of a slower computer. Function Code determines how function code characters from the scanner is output. The Caps Lock function determines how the Caps Lock key controls the case of alphabetical characters. The three options below are available:.
If the Caps Lock is on, then Upper Case should be selected. Your Unitech scanner can output characters using eleven different language sets, including:. Wand emulation refers to raw, undecoded bar code data - 0s and 1s. The choice here is whether to assign a 1 high to the dark bar and a 0 low to the white space - or vice-versa.
This adjustment refers to the amount of time the wand scanner requires to recognize an individual bar in a bar code. The polarity of the idle condition while it has no input of the wand scanner can be either high or low.
The ASCII code for numeric input from the keypad part of the keyboard is different from that of the upper row of the keyboard proper. Some accounting programs require keypad input, and for that reason, the keyboard decoder can output scanned or read numbers as either keypad or keyboard upper row output. Baud Rate bits per second refers to the speed of the data through the RS port. If the data error rate is unacceptably high, setting the baud rate lower should help.
A technique used to detect data transmission errors by adding an extra bit to each character. Handshaking is the mechanism that controls the speed of data flow so that a slower receiver of data is not overwhelmed by a faster sender of data.

Turn over the unit; unscrew the battery door lock screw by turning the screw left for quarter turn. Slide the main battery pack from battery compartment. Insert the new main battery into the socket.
Once the backup battery is removed from the unit, all data within the unit will be lost, please backup all files before you remove the backup battery. Insert a new battery into the holder. Put the backup battery cap back on. Re-installed the main battery, cold star the new unit. Make sure to back up your data in terminal before making the replacement the lithium back up battery.
Plug in the power adaptor into a power outlet and connect the other end to the power outlet of the HT, mount the terminal into the cradle, LED light on the cradle will be in red, means in the charge. When the battery is fully charged, LED light will be in green. This should take 2 to 3 hours. The process is the most efficient in the normal room temperature or slightly cooler. Charging battery outside of the specified range could damage batteries and shorten its life cycle.
Effects of Overcharging Batteries Overcharging may occur when a Li-Ion rechargeable battery is charged in regular or quick charging rate after it has been fully charged, but there is no risk of overcharging while charged in trickle charging rate.
A battery left to charge for several weeks may appear to have minimal capacity. This type of failure can be remedied by temporarily depleting the battery of its power and recharging it to rejuvenate it. This condition can be prevented by avoiding overcharging for a long period of time or always using the cradle to charge the batteries of terminal. The cradle starts the charge process in the quick charge rate and switches to trickle charging rate when it detects the battery is fully charged.
Although charged Li-Ion batteries may be left unused for several months, their capacity may be reduced due to back up and internal resistance. If this happens, they will require recharging prior to use. The system of terminal may operate in various modes for different purposes. The figure below shows the operating flow of the terminal. The following diagram summarized these operating modes to switch between different modes. RUN 3. COM 5. ERA 7. TER 4. DIR 6.
TYP 8. The Supervisor mode is also protected with password checking to prevent unauthorized personnel from changing the system configuration.
It is likely that your unit came pre-configure by your software vender or system developer. In this case, please be caution when changing these settings. After the Warm Start, the system enters Ready mode and shows the Ready mode prompt. Ready mode prompt HT Vx. The second line shows the size of the total installed RAM i.
Each command can be invoked through menu-selection in User mode. The program may also be executed on the terminal by entering the program name directly in Ready mode. TER This command puts the terminal in either terminal emulation mode or FormCaching application mode depending on which function you select. Please see chapter 4 for detail on how to configure and use FormCaching. In terminal emulation mode, the terminal serves as a dumb terminal to transmit data to or receive data from a Host computer.
In this mode, data input from bar code reader or keyboard is displayed on screen and output to RS port. Data received from the serial port is displayed on the LCD screen. Communication parameters, such as baud rate, data bits, parity, stop bits and flow control, must be set to be compatible with the destination in order to send data properly.
COM This command puts the terminal in Kermit server mode. Hit [ESC] Ready mode. After the file has been deleted, it can not be recovered. The content of the file will be displayed 16 character x 8 line characters at a time. If you try to display a program or binary file, you may only see unintelligible characters. EXIT 3. The system date and time can be retrieved in application and used as time stamp for data collection.
If you want to reset the system date to January1 , then enter [1][9][9][7],[0][1],[0][1]. Or press [ENT] key to skip the system date setting. The third line shows the current time. The way to set system time is similar to set system date described above. Addr Display the BT Address. Available only when HT in master mode Reset Restore factory default settings. The hardware and software of terminal is designed that the unit can be woken up turned on by input from the serial port.
Then, the program can be sent out a data pack of a remote ESC command that matches the MULTI protocol to the terminal and instruct the terminal for certain process. Meanwhile, the program running on the host should follow the control flow of MULTI protocol and process to receive the data.
It allows you to create a data entry application from specifying field prompt, type, length, input method and delimiter, etc. Space 4. DDMM 6. The system will first ask user to specify four categories of the field specification including field prompt, data length, data type and device type of each data field.
This step also determines the number of fields in each record and you may continue to set the rest six categories of record specification including between field, field delimiter, record delimiter, date stamp field, time stamp field and field delay.
DAT will be created to store data. DAT is existed. It is necessary to delete the FORM. DAT in order to change the configuration of FormCaching. The FormCaching application will follow the setting as defined to display prompting, get input and store data in the file named FORM.
After collecting data, the FORM. DAT file can be uploaded to host either by invoking Kermit server in User mode described in section 3. Follow the procedures below to establish a Bluetooth connection on the host.
