Cannot uninstall java 7 update 25
Haven't seen that myself. Just yesterday, I grabbed the 7u25, and as you are doing, pulled out the msi and cab files. Run through PDQ Deploy. Just tried uninstalling to see what version it says it is and the title bar says "Java 7 Update 25". My test VMs are uninstalling as Update 25 as well.
Java's online "verify your version" thing notes it as Is the site you're trying to access an intranet site? I'd like to try and duplicate your problem if possible. I ran into a slightly different issue with J7u My machines x64 kept telling me that they were running 7u17, I found this to be an issue with the x64 installer. I un-installed the 7u17 and installed the 7u25 an all is fine. Extra work for me that you would have thought that Oracle would have taken care of with the installer.
Larry and crew are starting to drive me to drink! I clicked on the login link you referred to and got this screen I did have to "accept" a security risk pop-up looked just like any other java applet pop-up.
I have been having nothing but issues with Java ever since they had the major issues with Java 7u The installers dont install correct and most of the time I run the offline installer.
I'm not having issues here. I tried uninstalling it as well and see if it'll say Java 7 Update It didn't. I have no issues on my end. The only thing I noticed is when I install Java x64bit on my system Windows 7 64bit , java doesn't seem to work. It says that I need to download Java when I try to run "verify my java version".
I already have it installed but for some reason, it doesn't recognize that I have it install. But if I install the Java x86, it works fine. So I ended up just installing the x86 java version and it works great.
No errors or anything. I'm having the same issues, just completely uninstalling java and downloading the new version seems to work for me. I experienced the same.. Or you can install it twice. Then when I tried to delete the Java files in my Program Files x86 folder, I can't do it as the "file is being used by another process". Now I can't install a new version of Java as I get an error code owing to the incomplete Java files, and I still got my JNI shared library error to fix.
If you use 64 bit eclipse, you need a 64 bit operating system and 64 bit JDK. Sometimes when you run java and your applications don't close properly, java run-time environment is still running. So you have to force java out of that state. Next time, i'd just install the newer version of java right on top of the old one.
Because the installation process removes the old version of java for you and replaces it with the newest one. How are we doing? Please help us improve Stack Overflow. Take our short survey. Stack Overflow for Teams — Collaborate and share knowledge with a private group.

You should uninstall Java from the Control Panel, instead of deleting files manually. Also, close all your running programs to ensure Java isn't in use. Do you have Process Explorer?
